General dentistry and check-ups in Ankleshwar

A careful look at your teeth, gums and mouth, with oral cancer screening and digital X-rays when they are needed.

Treatment room with a dental chair and a screen beside it

Most dental problems start quietly. A small cavity, early gum disease or a patch inside the cheek rarely hurts at first, which is why a regular check-up matters even when everything feels fine.

At Divine Dental Care, on Sardar Park Road in GIDC Ankleshwar, a check-up is a proper examination, not a quick glance. The dentist looks at your whole mouth, explains what is found in plain language and talks you through any options. Nothing is started without your agreement.

What the treatment involves

A general check-up covers more than the teeth. The dentist usually looks at:

  • Teeth – for decay, cracks, wear and old fillings or crowns that need attention
  • Gums – for bleeding, swelling, recession or pockets that point to gum disease
  • Bite and jaw – how your teeth meet, and any clicking, grinding or jaw pain
  • Soft tissues – the tongue, cheeks, lips, palate and floor of the mouth, as part of an oral cancer screening

Oral cancer screening is a quick look and gentle feel of the mouth and neck. It matters in India, where oral cancer is among the more common cancers, and tobacco in any form, supari (areca nut) and alcohol all raise the risk. If something looks unusual, the dentist explains whether it needs watching, a review visit or a referral for further tests.

When needed, the dentist takes a digital X-ray to see between the teeth, under old fillings and around the roots. The clinic uses digital X-rays with low radiation, taken only when they will help with a decision. Please tell the dentist if you are, or might be, pregnant.

Common reasons patients come in

  • A routine check-up, often every six months or as the dentist advises
  • Bleeding gums while brushing, or bad breath that does not go away
  • Sensitivity to cold, hot or sweet food and drinks
  • An ulcer, white or red patch, or lump in the mouth that has not healed within three weeks
  • A habit of chewing tobacco, gutka or paan, and wanting the mouth checked

How the treatment works at Divine Dental Care

  1. A short conversation. You tell the dentist about any worries, your medical history and your medicines, including blood thinners and medicines for diabetes or the heart.
  2. Examination. Your teeth, gums, bite and soft tissues are checked. The intra-oral camera and chair-side screen can be used to show you close-up pictures of what the dentist sees.
  3. X-rays if needed. A low-radiation digital X-ray is taken only when it adds useful information.
  4. A clear explanation. The dentist explains what was found, what can wait and what should not, including simply keeping an eye on something where that is reasonable.
  5. Your plan. If treatment is needed, such as tooth-coloured fillings or teeth cleaning and scaling, you decide when to go ahead, and you are told when your next check-up is due.

Aftercare and recovery

A check-up needs no recovery time; you can eat and go back to work straight away. If you also had a cleaning, your teeth may feel slightly sensitive for a day or two.

Between visits, the basics do most of the work: brush twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste, clean between your teeth once a day, keep sugary snacks and drinks to mealtimes, and avoid tobacco in any form. For younger family members, see children's dental care. If you notice bleeding gums (see gum treatment), an ulcer that is not healing or a tooth that starts to hurt, do not wait for your routine visit – book an appointment at the clinic in Ankleshwar sooner.

Frequently asked questions

How often should I have a dental check-up?

Many people do well with a check-up every six months, but the right gap depends on your teeth, gums and general health. The dentist may suggest a shorter or longer interval for you.

Do I need an X-ray at every visit?

No. X-rays are taken only when the dentist needs to see something that cannot be checked by eye, such as decay between teeth or a problem at the root.

What is an oral cancer screening?

It is a careful look at, and gentle feel of, your tongue, cheeks, gums, lips, palate and neck to spot patches, ulcers or lumps. A screening cannot diagnose cancer by itself; if further tests are needed, the dentist will explain the next step.

Is it safe to have a check-up during pregnancy?

Routine check-ups are generally considered safe and helpful during pregnancy, as hormone changes can make the gums bleed more easily. Tell the dentist you are pregnant so X-rays and treatment can be planned around it, and speak to your doctor as well.

My teeth do not hurt. Do I still need a check-up?

Yes. Decay and gum disease often cause no pain in the early stages, and catching them then usually means simpler treatment.

Every mouth is different. The right treatment for you is decided only after Dr. Dhara M. Sudani examines your teeth and, if needed, takes an X-ray. This page is general information, not a diagnosis.
